Lynn Rae Fazen I like to create my work out of the darkness.  It is exciting to see the progress of color and light revealing the subjects I paint.  As color builds the fruit in my paintings come alive and rich to me.  The curve of a pear and round turn of an apple delight me.  I hope my work also reveals the joy I have in bringing a painting to completion. I am drawn to the possibility of perfection but know, as in life, perfection is rare and difficult to attain.  However, the joy and struggle to get there is most important. We as individuals must work continually to grow in spirit, mind and heart.  Painting forces me to look inside of myself for what I want to accomplish. Creating big, bold, jubilant fruit is what I strive for in my work.  If not “perfect” let it be pleasing to the eye of those who see my work.
